ILO’s came out with Fair Migration Agenda in 2014 “Towards stronger measures to combat abusive labor recruitment and to prevent human trafficking” which seeks to broaden choices for workers to find decent work at home and abroad, with full respect of their human and labor rights.
An important pillar of the Fair Recruitment Initiative is to advance and share knowledge on policies, laws, emerging practices, and challenges related to the recruitment of workers within and across countries and envisages and foster fair recruitment practices, prevent human trafficking and reduce the costs of labor migration. In this direction, we have to go a long way and we demand all the stakeholders in the migration platform to adopt and work together to achieve this goal so that migration will catalytic agent for development. Digitalization of recruitment platforms should be created and standardized everywhere.
